House fire at Saugeen First Nation deemed suspicious by police

The Bruce Peninsula Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended a residential fire on Kewageshig Street in Saugeen First Nation on January 1, 2019, shortly after 8:30 a.m.

The Saugeen First Nation Fire Department attended and extinguished the fire, which has been deemed suspicious.  

The Grey County Crime Unit (GCCU) and South Bruce Crime Unit (SBCU) are assisting the Ontario Fire Marshall’s Office with the investigation.  

The investigation remains ongoing, and updates will be provided as they become available.
