Roads and public works crews have completed all urgent clean up following a major rain event that hit Durham over the weekend.
On Saturday, August 7th, between 7:30 and 9:30 p.m., a localized storm cell over Durham measured 65 mm of rain causing excessive run=off and roadway flooding.
Several basements were flooded and roads were closed over the course of the early evening weather event. There was no damage to municipal infrastructure or buildings.
One rural road that sustained major erosion damage has been repaired. There are some roads that sustained minor erosion damage and they are expected to be repaired by the end of the week.
