The 18th annual Bruce Power Charity Golf Tournament was another huge success, raising $115,000 for the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation and the Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation.
The tournament, which was held Friday, Aug, 9 at Saugeen Golf Club with 180 golfers participating, has been instrumental in raising funds for the foundations to purchase priority medical equipment and complete facility upgrades. Since its inception in 2001, the tournament has raised more than $2.5 million.
“We appreciate the generosity and ongoing support of Bruce Power and all of the businesses which come to take part in the Bruce Power Charity Golf Tournament,” said Betty-Jo Arnett, Chair of the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation. “This support helps ensure our local hospitals have the equipment necessary to provide excellent health care in our community to treat you, your friends, your family and your neighbours when you need it most. As the fundraising hub of our local hospital, we bridge the gap between the funding provided by the government and the needs of our community.”
While Bruce Power is the title sponsor of the tournament, the company’s suppliers and local businesses play an integral role in the success of the event on behalf of the two foundations.
“The Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation thanks Bruce Power, the sponsors, suppliers, contractors and employees for their continued support through the Bruce Power Charity Golf Tournament,” said Becky Fair, President of the Kincardine foundation. “Over the years, the proceeds from this tournament support the health-care needs of our communities with much-needed medical equipment. We could not do this without the dedication of companies like Bruce Power.
“We are thrilled to be a part of this special day and thank the participants, sponsors and volunteers for generously donating their money and time.”
