West Grey woman charged with child abuse

On Sunday, August 11th 2019, police received information from a person under the age of 18, who reported that her mother has been abusive for years and that she is scared.

The victim described several instances where her mother has struck her including one instance involving a weapon.

Child and Family Services were contacted and the girl and her siblings were removed from the residence until further notice.

Subsequent to police investigation, a 38 year old West Grey woman has been charged with one count of assault with a weapon and one count of assault. The accused was brought to the police station where she was processed and later released on an undertaking and a promise to appear.

The accused is set to appear at the Walkerton courthouse on the 4th of September 2019 to answer to the charge.
