Annual wine tasting with a twist of flavours

It was a unique pairing of sweet and sometimes ‘dry’, when the Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre hosted an unusual annual Wine Tasting event on Saturday, September 25th.

Instead of the regular canapes, wines were paired with unusual flavours of ice cream.

The event featured six Ontario wines paired with the unique flavours of Tomboi ice cream in a variety of flavours, that the 49 ‘tasters’ who attended found fascinating.

The evening started off with a white wine paired with Barb’s White Lace, a vanilla teamed with Beth’s Wild flower honey and Madagascar vanilla bean . Other creamy ice creams included Tomboi’s own ‘Creamy avocado with a wasabi zing”.  The locally owned-and-operated Tomboi’s in Paisley (ON) has, in a short time, established itself as the ‘go-to’ for unusual ice cream delights.
