Three dancers from Walkerton qualified to attend the North America Irish Dance Championships hosted in Montreal from July 1st to July 6th where dancers from across the world in various age groups attended the competitions.
From the Miller Irish Dance studio in Orangeville, Avery McGregor, Madalynn McGregor and Kate Bester all competed in the Under 15 (U15) Open Championship.

Avery was in the 15A group with over 150 dancers. She had three solid rounds, was recalled and placed 43rd, her highest yet.
Madalynn and Kate were in the 15B group, again with over 150 dancers. Madalynn received her first recall, performed three solid rounds and placed 63rd.
This was Kate’s first time qualifying for the North American Championships and she was not far off from recall and was very happy with her results.

“They all danced beautifully on the stage and represented Walkerton and the Miller School of Irish Dance well. The girls attend classes regularly and put in countless hours of work in the studio and at home,” added instructor Maureen Miller.
