OLG issues third quarter gaming revenue payment to Hanover

Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) is pleased to make the third quarter (October 1 – December 31) payment totalling $278,809 to the Town of Hanover for hosting Playtime Casino Hanover.

So far, during OLG’s fiscal year (April 1, 2025 to March 31, 2026), Hanover has received $977,689. Since the gaming site opened in February 2001, Hanover has received $25,013,195.

These payments to host communities are based on a formula in the Municipality Contribution Agreement that is consistently applied across all land-based casino sites in Ontario using a graduated scale of gaming revenue at the hosted site.

“Year after year, a share of the revenue from Playtime Casino Hanover through OLG’s Municipality Contribution Agreement has been an important source of funding for Hanover, helping to deliver vital services and helping to enhance the quality of life of local residents,” said Paul Vickers, Member of Provincial Parliament for Bruce–Grey–Owen Sound. “Host communities benefit from their share of local casino revenue, while all Ontarians benefit from OLG’s gaming revenues, as 100 per cent of OLG profits are reinvested in communities across the province.”

Since 1994, host communities have received almost $2.4 billion in non-tax gaming revenue.

OLG is proud to share proceeds of casino gaming with local communities, contributing to economic development including infrastructure and job creation. Payments to host communities are part of OLG’s commitment to Ontario, which includes reinvesting 100 per cent of OLG’s profits back into the province.

Over the past nine years, service providers have invested more than $2.9 billion in private sector capital investment across the province. These investments have led to the development and opening of seven new casinos; two large-scale resort developments and expansions; many gaming floor expansions and new non-gaming amenities.
