On Saturday evening, February 15th, the Mission Zimbabwe Project held its annual Valentine Concert at Victoria Jubilee Hall in Walkerton.
The concert featured a variety of performances by local entertainers who donated their time and talents to support the Mission Zimbabwe Project.

A trio of Dale Ahrens, Blaine Cramm and Pat Mullen kicked off the show with some fun country tunes and were followed by Spencer Bristow dressed as the “man in black” singing Johnny Cash favourites. Fifteen year old, Azrael Hackshaw wowed the audience with his incredible piano playing especially his creative and inspiring rendition of “Jesus loves me”. The final performers before intermission were the father and daughter duo of Simon and Shemejah Tomino who sang beautiful songs of faith.
After intermission which featured free coffee donated by Ashanti Coffee, Spencer Bristow opened as Elvis as he delighted the audience with his tribute to “The King”. The last performer was Sebastian Ellis whose energetic piano playing and rock and roll style had the audience grooving to the beat.
The show concluded with all the performers joining together for an upbeat finale of “Goodnight Sweetheart, Goodnight”.
As the audience departed, many comments were heard that this was the best Valentine Concert ever!
Mission Zimbabwe wants to thank the performers for their support. Over $4,000.00 was raised from ticket sales and through generous donations, more than $2000.00 was raised that will be used to support feeding programs at the Village of Hope. The Mission Zimbabwe Project wants to thank Victoria Jubilee Hall for allowing us to use their beautiful hall. We also want to thank our sponsors Ashanti Coffee and Lakehouse Pantry for providing gift baskets for the donation prize draws.
