Saugeen Shores Corporate Communications Strategy receives international attention
Saugeen Shores’ Corporate Communications Strategy has received an APEX Grand Award in the category of Campaigns, Programs & Plans.
Awarded by Communication Concepts, based out of Virginia, USA, the APEX Awards (Awards for Publication Excellence) focus on excellence in graphic design, editorial content, and the ability to achieve overall communications excellence. The APEX Grand Awards honour the outstanding work in each main category.

The Communication Strategy is a document we are proud of, and this plan is leading the way to stronger, more effective and inclusive communication. We’re honoured to receive this award.” said Mayor Mike Smith.
Only two out of sixteen winners in the category of Campaigns, Programs & Plans were Canadian. The Town of Saugeen Shores is in company of Ontario Nurses’ Association, based out of Toronto, Ontario.
The Corporate Communications Strategy was approved by Council in the fall of 2017, including seven objectives to better communication. Four objectives focus on internal communication while three objectives surround external communication.
The goal of the strategy is “to establish Saugeen Shores as a two-way communications organization, both internally and externally, by effectively engaging our stakeholders to ensure a broader awareness and understanding of Town programs, initiatives, services and to tell our story”.
