It’s hard to believe with the unpredictability of May weather, but summer is right around the corner.
This brings an eventual return to beach days and the inevitable lament of bored kids not long after they’re freed from the confines of the classroom.
We’re fortunate to have a wide array of activities for all ages — from recreational programs and sports, to festivals and museums — to entertain us through the summer months.
Consider adding the Bruce Power Visitors’ Centre to your to-do list this year. If you and your family haven’t been there for a few years, or if you’re hosting visitors from out of the area, our revamped Visitors’ Centre offers a fun and educational experience for all ages.
Come out and learn about the exciting work we’re doing every day by interacting with displays on the nuclear electricity process, the production of cancer-fighting medical isotopes, our refurbishment projects, the company’s commitment to safety and the environment, as well as the changes to the site as it progresses with its Life-Extension Program.
Our Summer Bus Tour Program will also return on June 2nd. Tours will be offered Monday to Friday at 10 a.m. in June and 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. in July and August (except statutory holidays) to guests who pre-register at www.brucepower.com/bustours. Please note, some days are unavailable due to special events and the final tour of the season will be Aug. 31.
It is highly recommended that participants pre-register to secure their seat, as space is limited. Guests should arrive to the Visitors’ Centre at least 30 minutes prior to their scheduled tour to watch the welcome film in the air-conditioned theatre and complete required security checks. There are limited walk-in spots for each tour, and you must arrive 45 minutes prior to departure and have the required identification to claim one of these spots.
After a security check of each person’s government-issued photo ID (for individuals over the age of 18), visitors board the bus for a one-hour, narrated tour of the 2,300-acre site.

Located north of Tiverton at 3394 Bruce County Rd. 20, it is open Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., excluding statutory holidays. Larger groups such as service clubs, school and church groups, and other business and community organizations are also welcome.
