On Tuesday, February 26th, morning hosts Brian Longmire and Meghan Johnson presented a cheque to Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation Executive Director, Tracy Murray for $57,500.  The cheque represents ‘in-kind’ advertising across the Bayshore network of eight stations in Ontario for the Gran Fondo.

“We are so pleased to have 98 theBeach and Bayshore Broadcasting on board again this year,” said Murray. “Our on-line registrations have already exceeded last year at this same time so we are excited that it appears as though Gran Fondo 2019 will be even bigger this year.”

The Gran Fondo Lake Huron is a fundraising cycling event for the local Saugeen Memorial Hospital in Southampton.

More than 700 cyclists participated in the 2018 event that gave them the opportunity to cycle throughout the local Bruce County region along four scenic routes that featured rest-stops where they could enjoy refreshments.

The routes range from 30K to 160K that will take riders throughout Bruce County but registration is limited to 1,500 riders with a minimum entry fee of $100.

All the funds raised will go to the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation for equipment needs which are not supported by government funding.
