The popular Christmas Tour of Homes in Saugeen Shores is only ten weeks away and the excitement is already building.
The 2019 Tour hosted by the Chantry Island Cham-bettes is a fundraiser for the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation, the Caitlyn Cobean Community Crusaders (a children’s charity) and other community projects.
The Tour takes place Friday, November 15 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and again on Saturday, November 16th from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and features six homes in the area.
Each home is uniquely decorated by volunteer designers with support from several local businesses and tickets ($20 cash only) are now available at Cathy’s Flowers ‘N Treasures, K-Interiors and Accents in Port Elgin and in Southampton at L & Co. and the Southampton United Church (during tour hours).
One of the beautiful homes on the tour is the new lakeside home of Allan Dew and Jane Kershaw in Port Elgin.
Built by Dennison Homes and working with K-Interiors and Bruce County Custom Cabinets, the spacious home has many unique features, including large, black-framed transom windows that allow an uncluttered view of Lake Huron. With a large walk-in pantry, upper kitchen cabinetry is kept to a minimum and the coffered ceiling adds detail to the open concept design.
The custom home is one of the six on this year’s Tour of Homes.
In addition, this year, the Cham-bettes are also holding a raffle with incredible prizes but there are only days left before the draw on October 1st. Tickets are a mere $5 each or three for $10 and are available from any Cham-bette and Bruce County Physiotherapy Clinic at 662 Gustavus Street in Port Elgin (cash only). All proceeds go to the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation.
