Search warrants in Huron East and North York yield illegal drugs

An investigation conducted by officers from the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Huron-Perth OPP Community Street Crimes Unit (CSCU), Grey-Bruce OPP CSCU, West Region OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU), West Region OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT), and Toronto Police Service resulted in the seizure of illegal drugs and offence-related property. Criminal charges have been laid against a Huron East resident.

An investigation initiated in January 2025 by members of the Huron-Perth CSCU led investigators to addresses in Vanastra (Municipality of Huron East), and North York.

On Tuesday, March 25, 2025, search warrants were executed in Vanastra and North York which resulted in the seizure of illegal drugs and related property. One individual has been arrested and charged.

A quantity of suspected fentanyl and cocaine were seized. The total value of the illegal drugs seized is estimated at $12,470. Additional offence-related property including cellular phones, packaging, and a digital scale seized by police totaled $4,100.

A 41 year-old male from Huron East has been charged with:

  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl,
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine.

The accused was processed and held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
