Everything you wanted to know about hair – the answer at Bruce County Museum

If you’ve every wondered why someone has straight hair, why curly hair, why black or blonde, then the exhibit at the Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre is the one to take in for all the answers.

The exhibit, Disheveling, that opened May 15th features humans, plants, and animals showing off their best attire, their hair, and the fine-tooth comb of science untangles it all in a world of hairy creatures, from hair, to fur to whiskers.

Those arriving on opening night donned orange hair, with volunteers taking part in a  fun quizz game, hosted by 101.7the One radio, of hair styles worn through the years with participants, including Saugeen Shores Mayor Luke Charbonneau, guessing the decade for each.

For the young, there was the chance to create a ‘chia-pet’/planting to take home and, for the young-at-heart, a chance to channel their inner Marilyn Monroe, Elvis or Marie Antoinette by taking a selfie with a foam wig!

The exhibit, produced by Sherbrooke Museum of Nature and Science in collaboration with Télé-Québec and a contribution from Heritage Canada remains until September 1st and is presented by Ontario Power Generation (OPG) and radio station 101.7the One.
